I’ve been lovingly attending Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights since 2019. I look forward to it all year and feel empty inside when it’s over. Some years they have a parkwide theme for the event, and this year the theme was a crumbling conservatory filled with STAINED GLASS! What are the odds that this would happen the VERY SAME YEAR that I, a super duper megafan, would start learning how to craft with stained glass?!? Anyway, this year was the 10th anniversary of the Halloween Horror Nights “Tribute Store” – a seasonal store with theming and decoration that changes annually, and is often as elaborately crafted as one of the haunted houses. This year it was in a new (much smaller) location and somewhat underwhelming. HOWEVER, tucked away above the cash registers was a beautiful stained glass-style window full of nods to previous years’ tribute stores. References include The Curator (bottom center), tesla coils from HHN’s 2020 Tribute Store, a Cthulu-like creature that Boris Shuster battled in HHN32’s comic-book themed tribute store (center top), and the cat entrance to HHN29’s tribute store (center). The store also sold a small ornament version of the window. Of course, I had to recreate this window to display in my own home, and I think it’s pretty darn accurate. There are over 800 pieces and 15 different colors. I opted not to put all the years on it because I would’ve had to either paint them or make vinyl printouts.
